Early menopause  is a term that is used to describe the change of life as it occurs in women under the age of thirty-five. It is defined as menopause before the age of 45, and is becoming an important public health issue as a risk factor for fertility problems.

Early menopause is also associated with rapid bone loss, increased risk of cardiovascular disease, low libido, and vaginal atrophy, and is defined as menopause occurring prior to the age of 45. It is often of unknown cause. It is not an illness, it is just a normal phase of life that happens much earlier than expected. Early menopause may result from the ovaries being removed or irradiated, and is something that is not too uncommon.

Early menopause is seen in women that are under weight or smoke too much and they attain menopause even before the age of 40, and is defined as menopause that occurs in a woman before the age of forty. It is a term that is used to describe many , and is usually brought on by drugs given during chemotherapy.
