Purpose and Importance of the Scholastic Aptitude Test

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), once called the Achievement Test, is the most important test for high school students interested in going to college. The Scholastic Aptitude Test, among other things, is used by colleges in evaluation the college readiness of their applicants. A student’s SAT scores give the college a better picture of a student’s skills, literacy, interests, and college preparation. Even future employment opportunities may be influenced by a good Scholastic Aptitude Test score. Getting ready for the scholastic aptitude test by taking the PSAT or using other online preparation software is critical to doing well on the SAT.
