Macintosh and WYSIWYG
April 26th, 2008 by admin
While wysiwyg web design software does exist for the Macintosh, the choices are few and far between. Therefore, a web site designer is more likely to use web design software made for hard-coding. There’s certainly nothing wrong with this. In fact, non-Mac users who rely heavily on WYSIWYG software might do well to learn more about the code behind the pretty-looking GUI. After all, HTML wasn’t designed with WYSIWYG in mind, and so no software can completely do it justice (though some terrific software is out there) such as PageMill, HomePage, and CyberStudio. I think the best approach is to use WYSIWYG for the basics, then go under the hood and clean up any mess generated.
