ILEX, or Institute of Legal Executives was founded in the UK, in 1892, and works directly with the Government and the Ministry of Justice, offering tutorials, training, education and information to those working in the legal profession. ILEX offers a cost effective way for many to acquire education and a certificate in the field of law, without having to complete a law degree. While the option to continue on and become a lawyer and obtain a degree is still an option for anyone who is interested, the lower tuition costs are ideal for those who need on the job training. Students and those already ilex legal secretary practicing or working in the field are able to increase their knowledge and expertise in specific areas of law, through ILEX.
