Learning Graphic Design

The idea of working in a career where I can actually use my artistic talents really appeals to me. While my father has been somewhat supportive in my taking art based classes while in high school he is trying to discourage me from going into anything related to that as a career. His attitude is that there is a reason they call them starving artists. I want to show him that all artists do not starve and have been looking for graphic design schools to further my education. Many graphic designers make good money and all of them get to exercise their artistic abilities.
