How can you spice up your chicken rice recipes?

Chicken and rice are one of the fundamental and frugal meal combinations. Whether it is in chicken rice soup or chicken and rice cooked in a rice boiler or simply boiled on the stove for dinner, this combination is both healthy and cheap. The issue that comes up constantly is how to spice it up or stir it up while staying on a budget. 1.Add diced vegetables when you are cooking the rice. If you want an even easier option, pour in a can of vegetable soup in place of two cups of water to add vegetables to your chicken and rice while it is cooking. 2.Add diced pineapple to chicken rice recipes for a Hawaiian flavor. 3.Pour on barbeque sauce for a Western flavor. 4.Add in chili powder for a Southwestern flavor. 5.When making chicken rice recipes, add in broccoli and cheddar cheese (or melt slices of your regular cheese on top when done) to make chicken, cheddar, broccoli rice. This makes it a fuller meal with a serving of vegetables and dairy along with the protein from the chicken and carbohydrates from the rice. The mixture of chicken to the cheddar broccoli rice also makes your kids more likely to eat it.
