Foot orthotics are the same foot supports or foot inserts or foot insoles. They are all really just a variation of the same thing. All types of foot orthotics support come in so many variations and difference in height, lengths, angles, shapes that the decision as to which is the best orthotic for anyone person is a complicated decision making process. A biomechanical assessment to make a decision as to what type of orthotic and what prescription variables are needed is usually done by the podiatrists. Once this assessment is done and the variable determined, then the type of foot orthotic to best deliver them is decided upon.
